JAMES LAWRENCE PREVER ROBINSON
James Lawrence Prever Robinson, known as Lawrence, was the eldest son of Mark Prever Robinson and his wife Sophia Campbell Robinson; born in 1880 and died in 1948 at the age of 67. He spent his life handling the family affairs and was one of the founders of the Hawaiian Broadcasting system, KGMB.
He and his brother, Mark A, financed Station KDYX, the first radio station to go on the air in Hawaii. This station was absorbed by KGMB.
Lawrence Robinson married Lilla May Ripley in 1907 and has a home on the Robinson Homestead property in Nuuanu Valley. The couple had no children.
